Dear Reader,

Happy holidays.

To be offering such a greeting at the end of such a lousy year feels somewhat strange. But, we’ve made it. We’re closing out a period of time that will be considered nothing short of historic, and perhaps we will soon be able to look back with some measure of pride for surviving, those of us who are lucky. The pandemic is far from over, but there are encouraging signs that better days are on the horizon.

So, let’s give thanks and indulge in some holiday cheer. I thank you for your loyal support. We’ve been together for a long time, and I still find great satisfaction in writing books that you find entertaining and meaningful. As I’ve said many times before, if you didn’t enjoy the books, I certainly would not be writing them.

I published two books this year: Camino Winds in April and A Time for Mercy in October. Both were well received by you and I’ll be forever grateful. You inspire me to create other stories and keep writing.

Because of the pandemic, I’ve had little else to do but write, so I’ll be publishing two books again next year. And, with any luck, before too long we’ll meet in some crowded bookstore and say hello.

Until then, stay safe and keep close to what matters: family, friends, holiday traditions–and books.
